I signed up with Teladoc Registered Dieticians , its very convenient since we can talk over the phone. The only problem is teladoc changes access to your R.D. every few months so there is little continuity of care. Also I need a supplement specialist as the R.D's can only advise in a limited way for supplements. They recommended some great ones , but there are others that I researched and wanted to add . The amounts of supplements, finding reputible manufacturers , and testing for supplement results is more something a supplement specialist can provide more guidance with in my case. And since I do not drive , I need someone who can meet over the phone or P.C.

My diagnosis was quick, within 2 weeks. It started on my 34th birthday(21 years ago), I couldn't turn a magazing page, my fingers on the left hand wouldn't grasp a piece of paper. Thought maybe I slept on it funny, but everyday after was worse. My Dr. was on holiday so I went to walkins and got same answer, maybe a pinched nerve. Then I had a lightning bolt up my left arm and it went numb, I went to a dr. in my clinic and she told me to pack a bag and go to hospital where I would be seen by a neurologist. I had an MRI, lumbar puncture, tons of blood work and by this time I had lost use of my whole left side, totally paralyzed. The started agressive steroid treatment and physio, I had MS. Was told if I got out of a wheelchair the best I could hope for was walking with a walking aide...I told my neurologist to watch, I would walk on my own again. Six months later I was walking(without an aide)and working out the gym. I've been off meds for almost 20 years as the side effects where terrible. At that time there were only 3 drugs to choose from. Now I'm a fitness trainer and nutritionist specializing in living a Blessed with MS life. If I hadn't been diagnosed with MS I know I wouldn't be as healthy as I am now.

I had asthma as a child. I wasn’t diagnosed till I was 12. I outgrew it. My son has it now. I also had bad headaches and still do. My MS symptoms get better no leg or hand pain, and better mobility when I’m on my period. Less leg heaviness. But I still use a walker and a wheelchair.

For my last MRI I was in my sixties in age. I honestly feel it's silly not to be able to just sit still & get the MRI done, but..... something in brain takes over and I get so anxious I have panic attacks really severely. So for the last MRI my doctor wanted to make sure I felt nothing anxious at all about being in the MRI machine, so he gave me 2 Ativan pills about 45 minutes before the MRI was to start. Then about 15 minutes before the MRI he had me take 1 more Ativan, I am overweight so maybe that's why he went to 3 pills total. I remember getting on the table, and don't remember one thing after that, I kind of went to sleep I guess. ha! I tried an open MRI machine once & even it was horrible for me. I can't explain why it bothers me so much but I will never get into a MRI machine without plenty of medication. ha!! Hope things get better with you. I see the word Multiple Sclerosis listed next to your name, based on your age it appears you are one of the lucky people that can handle the disease pretty well. It affects people so differently from person to person. My brother died of MS at the age of 56. His disease was terrible, he was bed ridden the last 5 years of his life, I hated the day he passed but I was so glad he didn't have to endure the pain anymore. I know other people with MS much older than him and they do very well, you keep that up too! Take care.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I use medication for each MRI now too. I get them at least once a year. Yes, I have MS but I am doing well still. I am sorry you lost your brother to the disease. It can be such a difficult disease.

Can do you know if MS has anything to do with bladder issues? My daughter has had been diagnosed with a weak bladder. She does have left sided weakness and has leg pain in one leg only. She does has a neurologist for migraines and we are seeing a neurosurgeon to rule out spinabifida.

Tell me, how do you take this exercise when your whole body is screaming in pain. Don't get me wrong. I'll push myself. I still do some exercising. I am not a baby. I have been suffering pain in the central nervous system for over thirty years from MS. The advice given is for everybody Not something special for ms patients to follow. But it would give you your best chance the same as everybody else

Oh no. Exercising effectively with screaming pain is not possible. Managing the pain first would be a priority. I am not a doctor so I can’t give medical advice but maybe working with a pain specialist? Or trying different medications or THC? Maybe stretching or physical therapy with a therapist that specializes in MS?

My neurologist told me that it was very unusual to get MS at age 60. He thinks that I might have had it for years, and just didn't know it. Looking back, I see things that may have been a symptom. I now use a cane or walker when outside of the house.
